Bengals Free Agency: Bradley Bozeman is an option at center
Bengals free agency officially gets underway next week and we’ll finally know who the Cincinnati Bengals are targeting for their 2022 squad. Offensive line is going to be a major point of emphasis for them and a name for fans to keep an eye on is Bradley Bozeman.
Cincinnati should be pretty familiar with Bozeman, as he’s spent his entire career with Ravens to this point. He stepped into the starting center role this past season due to injuries to the rest of the line and put together his best season yet.
Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network discussed how Bozeman is on the Bengals’ radar entering free agency.
"The Ravens would ideally like to have Bozeman back. He’s expected to draw interest from multiple NFL teams should he hit free agency, including the offensive line-needy Bengals, according to league sources not authorized to speak publicly."
Bradley Bozeman should be a target in Bengals free agency
Trey Hopkins has one more year remaining on his contract but the team can save nearly $6 million if they cut him. With how lackluster Hopkins was as a starter in 2021 and the team having a competitive enough roster to win now, they can’t run the risk of playing it safe and hoping Hopkins bounces back in 2022.
If Cincinnati wants to make another run at the Super Bowl this year, they need to improve the entire offensive line and center is included in that. Hopkins wasn’t good enough but Bozeman could be the perfect option to bring in.
Ryan Jensen has frequently been linked to the Bengals throughout free agency and he’s the best possible center option in free agency. Jensen should be quite the popular candidate, however, and that’s why Bozeman is another name that should be on Cincy’s radar. They’d get a solid center moving forward and even better, they’d steal him away from the Ravens, who likely won’t be able to afford his services.
Would you be okay with Bradley Bozeman starting at center in 2022?
