Final Bengals mock draft before the start of free agency
NFL free agency kicks off next week and once it begins, we’ll have a better idea of how the Cincinnati Bengals will tackle the 2022 NFL Draft. In this final Bengals mock draft before free agency, the team added two offensive players and a defensive player.
Let’s take a look at the three-round Bengals mock draft and see who joins the stripes.
Round 1: Pick 31 – Kenyon Green, IOL (Texas A&M)
It’d be quite the steal if the Bengals could get Kenyon Green with their late first-round pick but here he was still on the board at pick No. 31.
While it feels like the Bengals will go o-line heavy in the draft, we’ll have to see what they do in free agency. If they end up adding names like Terron Armstead and Ryan Jensen, they might be able to go in a different direction in the first round.
For now, though, we’ll operate under the assumption that offensive guard is still a major need and Green could fill that need. While Green has experience at guard and right tackle, he was significantly better when playing guard and that could be where Cincinnati slots him in at.
If Quinton Spain isn’t retained, the need for a left guard becomes even stronger and Green could be the guy that plays there for the next half-decade if all goes according to plan. He could also fill the revolving door that has been the right guard position.
Cincinnati could use Green in a variety of ways and that’s what would make him a good pick here.
