Final Bengals mock draft before the start of free agency
Round 3: Pick 95 – Cam Taylor-Britt, CB (Nebraska)
With their third-round pick, the Bengals add a speedy cornerback to their secondary. Cam Taylor-Britt ran a 4.38 40 at the Combine over the weekend and that alone will vault him up the draft boards.
Taylor-Britt was one of the best players on Nebraska’s defense and this past season totaled 51 tackles, 11 defended passes, one sack, and one interception. He’d give the Bengals a speedy corner to pair with Chidobe Awuzie and Mike Hilton.
Another strength Taylor-Britt provides is that he’s a tremendous special teams contributor. The Draft Network recounted a game in 2019 where Taylor-Britt was able to force a fumble against Colorado on special teams.
With Eli Apple hitting free agency and Trae Waynes not coming back in 2022, Cincinnati needs to add help at cornerback. Taylor-Britt makes a lot of sense for this team in more ways than one and his speed should help make this defense dangerous.
