Bradley Bozeman – Center

Let’s face it, despite numerous attempts, the Bengals haven’t really had a dominating center since Richie Braham. Kids, that was early to mid-2000s. That’s too long.

No offense to Eric Ghiaciuc, Kyle Cook, Jeff Faine, Russel Bodine, Billy Price, or Trey Hopkins, (okay maybe offense, doesn’t matter to me), but none of these players provided the type of nastiness and stability that the team needs at that key position.

Enter Baltimore Raven Bradley Bozeman. The 27-year-old former Crimson Tide, Bozeman also boasts exceptional durability, having started 16 games each of the last three seasons with the Ravens.

While everyone and their mother (mine would probably agree), want the team to land Ryan Jensen, it’s likely that he will break the proverbial bank.

The Bengals have ample cap space, and I believe they would sign Jensen if the money is right, but like every year, a team will grossly overpay (Chiefs, I’m looking at you and Joe Thuney), and if that happens, Bozeman would be an excellent fallback while the Bengals spend their money elsewhere.

It’s not always the big splash that makes the difference, especially at a position like center. Rather, spend judiciously and bring in a lunch pail former sixth-rounder like Bozeman and reap the benefit of stability at the all-important position of center.
