After the Cincinnati Bengals had a huge first day of free agency, they’ve been pretty quiet since then other than re-signing some of the lesser-known names on their roster.
If the Bengals have another move left in them this week, these three players could make sense for them to target.
3. Trent Brown
Part of what has scared fans off from the team potentially targeting Terron Armstead for their offensive line is injuries and Trent Brown has certainly had his fair share of those during his career.
Over the past two seasons, Brown has appeared in just 14 games, and that certainly has hurt his market. According to CBS Sports, however, Brown allowed just one sack through 489 snaps in 2021 and spent all of those snaps at right tackle.
This would be a risky signing for Cincinnati and one that if they made, they’d probably want to have a reliable backup. Maybe they decide to sign both Brown and Riley Reiff or draft a right tackle early on in April.
Brown might struggle with injuries but he’s a solid right tackle and could give the Bengals the strong player they need on that side of the line. Is it worth the risk for them to bring him in despite his injury history? I’d say it’s worth it.
