8 former Cincinnati Bengals who still need a team for 2022
A.J. Green
After a decade in Cincinnati, A.J. Green entered free agency last offseason and did not return to the organization that spent the fourth overall pick on him in 2011. Instead, he took his talents to Arizona hoping to compete for a Super Bowl with Kyler Murray and company.
In Green’s first year away from the Bengals, the team reached the Super Bowl. Green played for a good team but they were eliminated in the Wild Card round, which was something the wide receiver experienced frequently during his time in Cincinnati.
Green had a solid season in 2021, hauling in 54 receptions for 848 yards and three touchdowns through 16 games and nine starts. Injuries had been an issue for Green in recent years but he remained relatively healthy and we saw that the 33-year-old still had plenty left in the tank.
At this stage in his career, Green probably isn’t WR1-caliber but he could provide a nice weapon for a team in need of another pass-catcher. The Bengals aren’t that team but fans still wish the best for Green after everything he gave the organization.
