3 ways the Bengals have helped Joe Burrow this offseason
The Cincinnati Bengals know they’re lucky to have Joe Burrow as their quarterback and they’ve proven it this offseason with the moves they’ve made.
The Bengals have always been an organization that’s notorious for “being cheap” and not being aggressive enough. They’ve proven over the past few years that these aren’t the same ol’ Bengals anymore, however, and they’re doing what they can to help Burrow succeed.
We saw this past year just how good Burrow and the entire team can be when the organization opens their pocketbooks and builds around their franchise player. They were so close to winning the franchise’s first Super Bowl title but that’s why they have to keep being aggressive and giving Burrow the tools to succeed.
So, let’s take a look at three ways the Cincinnati Bengals have helped their star quarterback in the 2022 offseason.
3. Re-signing Brandon Allen
Bengals fans might not be thrilled with the organization keeping Brandon Allen as the backup quarterback behind Burrow but he was re-signed for a reason. The biggest reason is that Burrow and Allen have a strong relationship and keeping him around makes Burrow happy.
While it’s doubtful that Burrow would have been fuming mad had the team gone in a different direction at the QB2 position, keeping Allen shows that they care about what he wants and they kept his guy around.
This was a move that helped Burrow because he gets to continue working with the same backup quarterback that he’s worked with during his entire time in Cincinnati.
