1. Extend Jessie Bates III

I have been pounding the table for this since last year and I am not alone in doing that, but the Bengals absolutely need to extend Jessie Bates III. Cincinnati selected Bates in the second round of the 2018 draft and developed him into their best defensive player and one of the top safeties in the league.

Over the years, the Bengals’ mantra has been draft, develop and retain, and they have not done much of that lately. By extending Bates, the Bengals can return to their roots and keep one of the top players on their roster.

This point does not need as much elaboration as the others, because essentially everyone who is keyed into the Bengals knows this must happen. Just do it, Bengals. Extend the man.

These are five things the Cincinnati Bengals can do to build on their already-stout offseason. Which ones do you hope happens the most?
