It’s great to see that the Cincinnati Bengals made strong moves at their biggest position of need following their loss in Super Bowl LVI. Now, their biggest position of need is arguably at cornerback and they made sure to address it in my latest mock draft.
While the Bengals didn’t take a cornerback until Day 3 of the draft, they managed to stock up on the position while strengthening their team at other needs with their first three selections.
Let’s dive into my latest mock draft, shall we?
Round 1: Pick 31 – Perrion Winfrey, IDL (Oklahoma)
As mentioned above, the Bengals have put themselves in a position where they can go best player available with their first-round selection. While a trade out of the first round is possible, I decided to stay put at No. 31.
With this pick, I had the Bengals grabbing Perrion Winfrey of Oklahoma. In 11 games for the Sooners last year, Winfrey totaled 23 tackles (11 for loss) and 5.5 sacks. He’s someone that could still be on the board after the first round comes to a close but if he’s who the Bengals have their eye on, it’d be wise of them to grab him while they can.
With or without Larry Ogunjobi on the roster, the Bengals need to add defensive line help and Winfrey would do just that. He’d be a great pick for them at No. 31.
