1. Drew Sample

This shouldn’t come as a shock, but Drew Sample could lose quite a bit if the Bengals add a tight end in the draft.

Cincinnati lost C.J. Uzomah to the Jets this offseason and went out and signed Hayden Hurst to a one-year deal. Hurst’s 2020 season was better than any that Uzomah had in the Queen City but Uzomah was a huge leader for this offense so that’ll definitely be missed.

Sample, on the other hand, has never had a big role with this team. If he wasn’t taken in the second round, fans wouldn’t be so annoyed with his lack of production but Cincy spent a second-rounder on him in 2019 and he’s gone on to amass just 460 yards and a touchdown during his three-year career.

With 2022 being the final year of Sample’s rookie deal, his time to prove himself is running out. If Cincinnati spends an early-round pick on a tight end (think Trey McBride or Isaiah Likely), it’s very possible that Sample will not have a big role or any role with the Bengals this year.
