1. Joseph Ossai

Joseph Ossai should be one of the most intriguing players that Bengals fans should be excited to watch this season. Ossai had to sit out his rookie season after suffering an injury in a preseason game but the Texas product had a very good camp before the injury. It was highlighted by him sacking Tom Brady.

Ossai was a third-round pick out of Texas with an extremely high motor, which is a crucial reason why Cincinnati drafted him. He’s a strong, athletic, and agile edge rusher who has the speed and IQ to use silk hand and footwork that gets him in the backfield to make plays. He can also rush from the inside due to his speed and ability to tackle at a high level.

The Longhorn will add an extra spark to the Bengals’ defense and pass rush that drastically improved from 2020 to 2021. Ossai, alongside Trey Hendrickson, Sam Hubbard, and one of the best interior defensive linemen in football in D.J. Reader, will make Cincinnati have one of the most underrated yet talented pass rushes in the league.

Ossai will fly under the radar around the league but keep an eye on number 58 throughout camp and in the preseason because it will give fans a sneak peek into how Cincinnati may use him, the schemes he could be playing in, and the usage rate of the second year rookie.
