2. Tight End

It was a bummer watching guys like Trey McBride, Jelani Woods, and Greg Dulcich go off the board on Day 2 but that was to be expected. McBride was selected shortly before Cincy was on the clock with their second-round pick, which really stung.

With Hayden Hurst signed on a one-year deal and Drew Sample entering the final year of his rookie contract, the stripes need to find a tight end for 2023 and beyond. There are still some decent options available at this point in the draft so the Bengals should make it a point to add a tight end on Day 3.

Isaiah Likely is still on the board and he’s someone I really liked for the stripes. Charlie Kolar of Iowa State and Cade Otton of Washington could also be intriguing pieces for this young offense moving forward.

While Hurst joined the team to be the starter in 2022, it’d be a wise move for Cincinnati to add a rookie tight end to also take reps and potentially take over as the starter in 2023. Day 3 is the time to do just that.
