Bengals Draft: 3 reasons why Cam Taylor-Britt is a good fit
2. Athletic persona
Cam Taylor-Britt is flat out one of the most athletic and agile players in the entire draft class. His natural speed and makeup speed were on full display at Nebraska.
He had opportunities to face the best of the best in the Big Ten and even showed his ability in the NFL combine with a 4.38 40. Taylor-Britt was also a team captain and a three-year starter at Nebraska.
Also, he was more than just a cornerback throughout his high school career. According to NFL Draft Buzz, Taylor-Britt was actually a quarterback, and he was one of the best in the entire nation.
"In 2017 Britt totaled 2,496 yards of total offense and accounted for 30 total touchdowns, throwing for 1,466 yards and 16 touchdowns and adding 1,030 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground."
Nonetheless, the second-round pick is a true cornerback now and plays the position like he wants to be on an island covering the best. Don’t be shocked to see Taylor-Britt slowly increase his snap count as the season goes on, taking snaps away from Eli Apple, who is only on a one-year deal.
The Bengals drafted Taylor-Britt as a future piece at the position, and turn on his college tape if you’re weary. He is built for the NFL, and his personality is made for the NFL.
