Tight Ends (3)

Hayden Hurst, Drew Sample, Mitchell Wilcox

The tight end spot will be similar to last season; just swap C.J. Uzomah out for Hayden Hurst. Thad Moss will be a name to watch throughout camp, and if he performs and shows his worth in training camp and preseason, he could land a roster spot, but I’d lean toward a practice squad role for him to start the season with.

Mitchell Wilcox shouldn’t be overlooked. He saw at times a decent usage rate on the field and is a better receiving tight end than Drew Sample, which gives me a reason to believe he may hold that number three roster spot. Sample is a critical blocker in the offense and is on a big prove-it season for the Bengals.

Hayden Hurst will also have big shoes to fill after what Uzomah produced last season. The numbers don’t have to be crazy, as Uzomah was only in the range of 500+ and five touchdowns, but the production will need to be there, and Hurst will need to be a key contributor.
