Third-Stringers: Trenton Irwin, Jaivon Heiligh, Pooka Williams

This is where things get a little more interesting, especially with the influx of UDFAs at the wide receiver position. We could end up seeing a few of them make the team and serve as third-stringers but for now, I’m going with two veterans and one of the UDFAs.

Trenton Irwin was another preseason darling from a season ago and had two catches for 34 yards in the seven games he appeared in last year. He could be at risk of not making the team but it’ll take a hell of a preseason campaign from multiple UDFAs for that to happen.

Jaivon Heiligh is one of the aforementioned UDFAs who could end up finding his way onto the 53-man roster. The Coastal Carolina product had 66 receptions for 1,128 yards and seven touchdowns this past year and could be a nice spark behind the big three on offense. Don’t be surprised if he works his way up the depth chart.

Pooka Williams was an undrafted free agent in Heiligh’s position this time last year but he ended up sticking with the team for the entire year. While Williams was a running back at Kansas, the Bengals have listed him as a wide receiver during his time in the league and he’s mostly been used as a return specialist, returning three kicks last year.

These guys could move up on the depth chart with an impressive preseason but as of now, they’re squarely situated to be third-stringers.
