Bengals Roster: Super early 22-man starter projections for 2022
By Lee Metzger

LB: Logan Wilson
Logan Wilson is the ideal modern linebacker in today’s NFL. He can hit, run, and cover. His background as a former defensive back has translated into good ball skills. Wilson had five picks last year over the regular season and postseason.
This is a guy that the Bengals need to prioritize as a foundational piece of their defense when his rookie contract is up at the end of 2024. It wasn’t that long ago that Cincinnati had one of the worst linebacking corps in the league; now, they arguably have one of the best.
LB: Germaine Pratt
Playoff Germaine Pratt has solidified himself as a reliable contributor on this defense. Doesn’t it seem like this guy is trying to cause a fumble every time he gets near the ball? He just has that “create a turnover” mentality.
That sort of mindset is contagious and rubs off on the rest of the defense. If Pratt is Cincinnati’s weakest starter, that bodes really, really well for this unit.
