Starting OC: Ted Karras

Backups: Trey Hill, Lamont Gaillard

When Ted Karras first joined the Bengals, some thought he might be the team’s starting left guard due to Trey Hopkins still being under contract. Hopkins’ release saved the team a decent amount of dough, however, and that’s why it made sense to move on from him. Karras officially was going to be the starting center once Hopkins was no longer in Cincinnati.

There are plenty of options behind Karras at center but last year’s sixth-round pick Trey Hill is probably the likely backup. They signed Lamont Gaillard, who was also a former sixth-round pick but by the Cardinals in 2019, but he’ll have to put on quite the show this summer.

Ben Brown isn’t listed here but the UDFA out of Ole Miss is someone who can play center if need be so he’s another name to keep an eye on.

Karras has played guard and center throughout his career, which made him an appealing addition to the team but more than likely, he’ll be snapping the ball to Joe Burrow during his inaugural season in Cincinnati.
