The Cincinnati Bengals have a strong roster but there are always those diamonds in the rough who come out of nowhere and put together a strong offseason and end up making the team. Here are three under-the-radar players who could do just that.

It’s not easy for the lesser-known names on an NFL offseason roster to make the final team but it does happen. Whether it’s guys who might have been signed as a free agent and aren’t a big name or maybe an undrafted free agent, players sneak onto the final roster all the time.

For the Bengals, the players to keep an eye on when it comes to doing just this are all undrafted guys. Let’s take a look at who those players might be.

The linebacker position surprised a lot of people last season after coming off a year where the unit did not play well. It helped that both Logan Wilson and Germaine Pratt had pretty impressive seasons and blossomed into the players Cincinnati was hoping for when they spent third-round picks on the guys in back-to-back years.

Joining the linebacker room and hoping to make a positive impact is Colorado product, Carson Wells, who signed with the team as an undrafted free agent.

Behind Wilson and Pratt on the depth chart are Akeem Davis-Gaither and Markus Bailey, both of whom are likely locked in as the backups. Both guys have seen injuries during their pro careers, however, so it’s not out of the realm of possibilities that Wells could slide in and help this defense out.

His biggest competition this summer will be with Joe Bachie and Clay Johnston, two guys who were under the radar themselves last year and helped the team when called upon. It won’t be an easy road for Wells but he’s certainly someone who could make the Bengals’ roster.
