3. Thaddeus Moss

Bengals fans were excited when the team snatched Thaddeus Moss off the waiver wire last summer. He played with Joe Burrow at LSU and, as we saw with Ja’Marr Chase, the chemistry players develop with each other in college is no joke.

That LSU connection is why fans wouldn’t have been surprised to see Moss work his way up the depth chart. C.J. Uzomah was returning from injury last year and Drew Sample, despite putting together a decent end to the 2020 season, was still a big unknown. That’s why people were excited for Moss and that connection he had with Burrow.

Unfortunately, Bengals fans never got to see Moss take the field during the regular season. He was injured for the first chunk of the season and then when he was finally able to return, we still didn’t get to see him play at all.

At this point, I’m over the Moss hype. The Bengals signed Hayden Hurst this offseason and Drew Sample is likely going to be the backup with Mitchell Wilcox getting the final tight end spot due to his special teams presence. If Moss wants to have another chance at catching passes from his college quarterback, he needs to make the most of these next few months.
