Jessie Bates III

Jessie Bates was the only official Bengal to make an appearance on the NFL Top 100 last year. Yes, Hendrickson had signed with Cincy but he made the list for what he did in New Orleans.

Going into the 2021 season, everyone was looking to Bates to lead the defense to a better year. He played well in 2021 even if his individual numbers were lower than in 2020. Some of that is due to the players that were signed to help build up the defense. It’s that exact reason as to why he might get overlooked for the list this year.

Fans know what impact he has made on this team and he seems to get better with every year. Now that he has earned the spot he has on this team he has said that he will sit out the 2022 season, refusing to play under the franchise tag placed on him in March.

I doubt this gives any player pause regarding his performance in 2021 and how they will vote. Do not be shocked if Bates makes the final list.
