Chris Evans – Running Back/Returner

Running back Chris Evans was able to get into 14 games last season and even scored a touchdown in the Super Bowl. Last year, he carried the ball 17 times for 77 yards, 15 catches for 150 yards, and three touchdowns, showing off his hard running and pass-catching abilities.

Proving to the coaching staff that Evans was willing to do anything they needed him to win games, including returning kicks-offs, allowed him to gain the coaches’ confidence and trust of his fellow players. In his second year, Evans must prove he can pass block and show in the preseason games that he deserves more opportunities.

With a strong preseason, Evans could leapfrog Samaje Perine to become the number two running back, giving him more third-down chances as well as added shots out of the backfield. With his year of experience, speed, and stop-and-go abilities, we could see him incorporated into Joe Burrow’s weapons.
