2. Defense finishes tops in league

Yep, bold prediction no doubt. But, why not? Why not this unit? Clearly they have bought into Sweet Lou Anarumo’s philosophy. Clearly they all play with an unselfishness that lends itself to elite rankings.

It isn’t a stretch to imagine, with all the talent already on the defense, along with the defensive-heavy draft, that this unit could take HUGE strides resulting in being the top ranked unit in the league.

So many high draft picks, reclamation projects like Eli Apple, hopefully healthy guys like Joseph Ossai, and stalwarts like Trey Hendrickson, Logan Wilson and Chidobe Awuzie should come together and provide an elite unit.

Imagine for a moment an elite defense that doesn’t require Joe Burrow to drop back 45 times a game. You give Burrow a stingy defense and this team has the potential to be the top AFC seed and win 14 games. Pretty heady stuff for Zac Taylor and Lou Anarumo.
