The Cincinnati Bengals might be forced to cut some of their recent draft picks ahead of the 2022 season. These five recent draft picks could find themselves on the outside looking in when the summer comes to a close.
Just because the Cincinnati Bengals drafted a player doesn’t mean that player is guaranteed to play out the entirety of their contract. The team might have to make some tough decisions regarding who to cut and who to keep as the 2022 season inches closer.
Let’s take a look at five recent Bengals draft picks who might get cut by summer’s end.

5. Tyler Shelvin
A fourth-round pick in last year’s draft, Tyler Shelvin didn’t do much throughout the course of his rookie season. The 6’3″, 350-pound interior defensive lineman appeared in just three games and recorded four tackles while taking the field in 28% of defensive snaps.
I don’t realistically see the Bengals cutting Shelvin this summer due to needing depth on their interior d-line but with his lackluster rookie campaign, it’s not something to rule out by any means. He’ll certainly need to put together a strong training camp and preseason to ensure that he ends up on the 53-man roster.
