1. Wyatt Hubert

In the seventh round of last year’s draft, the Bengals selected Wyatt Hubert out of Kansas State. He was a player that I was looking forward to watching in the preseason but a pectoral injury sidelined him for the entirety of his rookie season.

That injury paired with the team drafting Jeff Gunter and also having Cam Sample and Khalid Kareem on the defensive line could make it difficult for Hubert to make the team.

During his senior season at Kansas State, Hubert racked up 27 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, and 8.5 sacks through 10 games. Getting him in the seventh round appeared to be nice value for the Bengals and it was a bummer that we didn’t see get to see him play at all in 2021.

With all of the defensive line depth fighting for roster spots this summer, it wouldn’t be shocking if Wyatt Hubert fails to make the 53-man roster.
