The Bengals focused primarily on defense in this year’s draft, which was a huge move by the front office and coaching staff. The Bengals had a very mediocre defense last year due to the lack of playmakers on the squad.
With additions such as Daxton Hill, Cam Taylor-Britt, and Zachary Carter, Cincinnati very well may have added some key guys to make plays. Hill is the Swiss army knife of the group as he could be used all over the field with his elite speed and pursuit. He holds great cover skills with the ability to tackle anyone coming his way.
Cam Taylor-Britt is the speed corner the Bengals have needed in the lineup as he can run with anyone and has a killer instinct when the ball is in the air. He will likely take the role Eli Apple once held as he is quickly making his name known through training camp.
Zachary Carter brings an elite pass-rushing mindset to the interior of the Bengals line and has plenty of opportunities to make his presence felt as he will be moved through the rotation quite often.
The loss of Larry Ogunjobi this offseason expects his face to be seen both on the field and in the opponent’s face. With all these rookies coming in the Bengal’s defense instantly got better, while also getting much faster and younger.
Expect to see these rookies in action every game while all making their significant impact on the squad over the season.
