Riley Reiff

It was a semi-big deal when the Bengals managed to sign Riley Reiff last offseason. That deal was aided by Joe Burrow going out to dinner with Reiff and convincing him to be one of the five guys upfront protecting him.

Reiff had played left tackle in his previous eight seasons (four with the Lions, four with the Vikings) but switched to the right side in Cincinnati. He was decent during his time with the stripes but an injury late in the regular season led to him missing five games and the entire postseason.

Reiff is 33 years old (he turns 34 in December) and with the recent injury, he likely isn’t a starting-caliber tackle anymore. He does, however, provide a solid backup option who now has experience at both left tackle and at right tackle.

I wouldn’t be opposed to the Bengals re-signing Reiff to have him as a backup behind Jonah Williams and La’el Collins but that doesn’t appear to be in the cards as we inch closer to training camp. An injury during camp or preseason could change that though.
