The main issue going into the 2022 season is protecting Joe Burrow. They appear to have most other positions in place to win a championship but it was plain to see that a shaky offensive line prevented the Bengals from winning a championship.

Currently, two of the starters are still on rookie contracts (Jackson Carman and Jonah Williams). Williams is entering his fourth season and will be tapped to be the starter at left tackle.

Williams will need to step up this season. He’s protecting the blindside of The Queen City’s biggest asset. Many people consider the blindside tackle the second most important player on the offense.

Williams will need to remain healthy, which has been an issue for him in the past. He will need to be healthy and playing at 100% if they’re going to win. Not only are the two younger players on the left needing to play well but the newly signed center, right guard, and right  tackle.

La’el Collins might’ve been the best free agent signing in 2022. Collins believes that he can help the o-line whip into shape to win a championship. Not only will Burrow look to Collins for protection but as a leader in the locker room as well.

With the three free agent signings on the line, Michael Renner at PFF believes the Bengals have a top 10 offensive line going into 2022.

"This is the most improved offensive line in the NFL, at least on paper. Ted Karras (72.4 grade in 2021), Alex Cappa (71.3) and La’el Collins (80.2) all represent significant upgrades over the Bengals’ 2021 starters at those respective positions."

With a highly improved o-line could the Bengals get back to the Super Bowl and possibly win it this year? It’ll be tough as always, but on paper, it makes sense to bet with Cincy.
