Landon Robinson beats Joe Burrow for best-dressed Bengals in Week 1 with Navy uniform

Before the Cincinnati Bengals took on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1, rookie defensive tackle Landon Robinson got a huge pregame win on the board. Although Joe Burrow showed off his customary fashion sense in his own right, Robinson bested him wardrobe-wise.

Robinson is a player I've gassed up since January and it seems the national media is finally catching on. He famously played college football at Navy, where he was a first-team All-American.

To earn that kind of recognition at a service academy speaks to Robinson's work ethic, chops on the gridiron, and implicit upside to get closer to his ceiling in the NFL. If his business-like approach to the season opener is any indication, Robinson has the makings of tone-setting steal from the seventh round of the draft.

I mean you tell me, do you prefer Joe Burrow's outfit, or the military getup Landon Robinson was rocking? Love me some Joe Shiesty and his runway vibes, but I'm going Landon all the way here!

Anyone who's been reading this space for any given amount of time knows that I wasn't going to let an opportunity to write about Robinson slip by. He's a tremendous player who has the versatility to line up anywhere from nose tackle to 4i technique, or perhaps even further outside in my humble opinion. Robinson certainly has the athleticism to execute twists and stunts up front.

As I implied before, it seems like Robinson has so much upside to explore at the professional level. Navy isn't your standard powerhouse football program, and there are so many other obligations he had to attend to while balling out for the Midshipmen.

Good thing the Bengals didn't overlook Robinson's efforts. It may have helped that he trained with Clif Marshall, who worked with Cincinnati legend Geno Atkins and sees similarities in their builds and explosive ability.

Sadly, Robinson was named among the seven inactives for the Bengals on Sunday. Part of me wanted to believe he was going to suit up and be ready to roll given how sharp his uniform was.

Alas...get ready for more nothing-burger snaps from Kris Jenkins Jr., everyone! In all seriousness, I'm hoping Dexter Lawrence and the revamped Bengals defensive line make Jenkins' snap count irrelevant.

Robinson just needs to keep showing up, putting the work in, and looking sharp. He'll get his chance at some point this season I do believe. I have to believe! WHO DEY!! GAME DEY!!! LET'S GO!!
