Joe Burrow seems different this year. The usually confident yet quiet Cincinnati Bengals quarterback has become 'nasty', he's hungry and he's demanding. Ja'Marr Chase spoke about his LSU teammate being "mean" in training camp this year, and it's all about changing the mentality and the urgency in Cincinnati.
From a personal standpoint, expectations have never been higher for Burrow. He has even said himself that he's sick of there always being a 'next year', and that THIS is the year for the Bengals to get a ring. He has his admirers across the league too, with Green Bay Packers star Micah Parsons handing him high praise this week.
Joe Burrow remains underrated in the NFL
Those that have watched him religiously know just how good Burrow is. However, when you see opinions of fans across the league, he still remains underrated, likely because of his injury history and struggles to stay healthy.
He's even underrated within the NFL circle. He was the 44th-best player in the NFL Top 100 this year, making him the ninth-best quarterback in the league. He finished behind the likes of Sam Darnold, Dak Prescott, Jared Goff and Justin Herbert. There's not a world in which Burrow isn't a top-five QB in the league.
Micah Parsons disagrees with the NFL Top 100
The best way to evaluate just how good Burrow is as a player, is by listening to someone who has played against him. Green Bay Packers pass rusher Micah Parsons is one such name, as one of the best defensive players in the league, he'll know more than anyone how hard it is to come up against the Bengals' signal caller.
Parsons recently said whilst speaking on his podcast for Bleacher Report: "I don’t think there’s a better quarterback in the league than Joe Burrow. People always say, ‘Why do people think Joe Burrow is so good? He’s always hurt, he’s always this, he’s always that. All of those people have never been on the field with Joe Burrow. He’s the best quarterback level of play that I’ve ever played in my life."
