2. Carson Wentz

With the second overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles selected Carson Wentz out of North Dakota State and it looked like it would be one of their greatest draft picks in franchise history. Wentz was likely on his way to winning the MVP award in the 2017 season until he had to miss the rest of the season and subsequent playoff and Super Bowl run.

Ever since that injury, Wentz wasn't the same guy. The Eagles ended up trading him to the Colts in 2021 and he only spent one year in Indianapolis before getting shipped off again, this time to Washington in 2022. Wentz struggled in D.C. and is currently without a team.

Wentz hasn't had weapons like he'd have in Cincinnati for quite some time but this still wouldn't be a move that excites anybody. There's a reason why Wentz hasn't signed anywhere and if the Bengals did opt to sign him, he'd mostly serve as a mentor for Browning.
