The Cincinnati Bengals are coming out of the bye week looking to kickstart their season after they beat the Miami Dolphins in Week 5 to go to 3-2.
Week 6 will bring the second AFC North battle of the season for the Bengals, as they welcome the Baltimore Ravens to Paycor Stadium on Sunday. The Ravens come off a loss in Week 6 to the Cleveland Browns, where they had to compete without Lamar Jackson, who was out with an ankle sprain.
Jackson is likely to return against the Bengals at the weekend, which is slightly concerning for Cincy; however, coming off an injury, he may not be at his best. Furthermore, it's not like the Bengals have struggled to keep pace with Jackson and the Ravens' offence in the past, as Joe Burrow has had some big days against Baltimore.
Burrow has four 300+ yard games against the Ravens, including two 400+ yard games and one 500+ yard game on Boxing Day in 2021. During that game, it was Tee Higgins who dominated the Ravens' secondary. He caught 12 passes for 194 yards and two touchdowns. The former Clemson Tiger will relish the chance to do the same in a potential shootout against Lamar on Sunday.
Higgins has been elite this season
Tee Higgins has flown under the radar in the NFL, mainly because he plays second fiddle to Ja'Marr Chase, but this season, the rest of the league should pay attention to Higgins' numbers. He's been better than Chase for the Bengals in 2026.
Higgins has nabbed 27 receptions for 423 yards and that stunning touchdown catch against the Steelers. Chase only has 27 catches for 289 yards, although he does have four touchdowns.
Tee is Joe Burrow's most-trusted target so far this year
This seems like a completely false statement considering all the Burrow-Chase talk, and their connection heading back to college, but Joe trusts Tee Higgins in contested catches much more than Chase.
Higgins has the most contested targets in the NFL this season (16), which is double Chase's targets (8). Furthermore, when you consider that Jaxson Smith-Njigba, Puka Nacua and Brock Bowers all have 10, and CeeDee Lamb has nine, Higgins is miles ahead of the 'elite' tier of wideouts in the NFL when it comes to contested targets.
His catch rate on contested targets is also over 60%, which is higher than the NFL average; Burrow trusts Higgins because, more often than not, he comes down with the ball, even in contested scenarios.
He's not getting the credit he deserves compared to Ja'Marr Chase, but he's also not getting the credit he deserves compared to the rest of the NFL, too. Tee Higgins is ELITE.
