The Cincinnati Bengals went to London and played host to the Washington Redskins. However, when both teams left, it was with an extra number on their record.
The Cincinnati Bengals are now 3-4-1 in the NFL and that leaves them a game and a half behind the division-leading Pittsburgh Steelers. However, it is not as great or as terrible as it may sound, luckily.
The Bengals will get a bye week in Week 9 and the Steelers and Ravens will face off, which could leave with the Steelers and Ravens a half game ahead of the Bengals. This also means that with a Ravens win, the Bengals still have control of their future. However, if the Steelers win, they could need some help to win the division and make the playoffs.
The Bengals had a 10 point lead at one point. They not only gave that up, they also gave up a field goal with two minutes left in the fourth, which means two second-half leads that disappeared from this Bengals offense, which was not terrible this game.

The defense was OK at times and only a few players were seen as having good games this week. Vontaze Burfict recorded 10 tackles and was all over the field. Domata Peko had a terrible 15-yard penalty when he decided to basically pick up Rob Kelley’s leg and cause him to fall. It gave the Redskins first and 10 on the Cincinnati 26, instead of second and six on the Cincinnati 41.
The Bengals offense was led by A.J. Green with 121 yards on nine catches and Tyler Eifert had nine catches for 102 yards and a touchdown. The Bengals running game was very good for the second week, Jeremy Hill had 76 yards on 20 carries and a touchdown. Bernard went for 52 yards on 11 carries and a touchdown.
This Bengals offense deserved better and Mike Nugent missed another extra point. This defense is a shell of last season and they deserve better. Can the Bengals use the bye week to get back on track?
