Bengals’ breakout candidates – Logan Wilson

This potential breakout player is not as obvious as Hendrickson. Logan Wilson has gone through a fantastic offseason though. Expectations are high for the second-year linebacker as he’s had a great preseason and camp. A former third-round pick, the Bengals liked what they saw from Wilson as a rookie last year and he has a chance to build on that.

Wilson will directly be challenged by one of the league’s best running backs in Dalvin Cook. Realistically, Wilson will not shut down Cook, as no one in the NFL has been able to recently. However, this game gives Wilson a great opportunity.

In the same sense, other players in the run game like Vonn Bell will need to be good to slow down Cook. Wilson is the driving force though as he is now one of the leaders of the defense. He was given the mic in his helmet for a reason, the coaching staff clearly trusts his skillset.

Wilson could kick off his season with a bang with a big performance against the Vikings’ bruising rushing attack.
