See what I did there? Yeah? Ja’Marr Chase set a Bengal record against the Steelers (like I said he would), with a touchdown in his third straight game to begin his Bengal career. As impressive a feat as that is, and it certainly is, let’s dream bigger, shall we? I feel very confident that Chase’s team record will never be broken.

We all have been Bengal fans likely most of our lives, and we have all seen great Bengal receivers, but have any of us ever witnessed anything like this?

After the post-draft “should’ve taken Sewell” angst, and Chase’s issues during the preseason catching a nonstriped football, to say that any Bengal fan isn’t surprised by Chase’s performance thus far would likely be incorrect. He has been everything advertised, and judging by the way he caught the back half of that football for a touchdown to essentially bury the Steelers season, more.

So what does he do for an encore? While this might be a bit of a saucy take, it’s what a bold prediction column is for! Chase will eclipse 200 yards receiving and yet another touchdown on Thursday night, in primetime, to preserve not only his place in Bengal record books but in the hearts and lore of Bengal fans everywhere.
