Madden predicted a massive blowout in favor of the Cincinnati Bengals last week and that didn’t end up playing out. The Bengals lost to the New York Jets in embarrassing fashion and now they’re facing a hungry Cleveland Browns team in Week 9.

This Browns game is all that stands between the Bengals and the BYE week, so it’s a very important game. A win would mean Cincinnati enters the BYE at 6-3 while a loss would make things dicier with a 5-4 record and the Ravens likely pulling further ahead in the division.

How does Madden see this game playing out? Let’s take a look.

Madden Simulation – Cincinnati Bengals 24, Cleveland Browns 30

Bengals Stats

  • Joe Burrow – 21-of-34, 297 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT
  • Joe Mixon – 16 carries, 78 yards, TD
  • Ja’Marr Chase – 6 rec, 112 yards
  • Tyler Boyd – 2 rec, 65 yards, TD
  • C.J. Uzomah – Rec, 5 yards, TD
  • Logan Wilson – 11 tackles
  • Trey Hendrickson – 2 sacks
  • Sam Hubbard – Sack; Recovered fumble
  • Chidobe Awuzie – INT

Browns Stats

  • Baker Mayfield – 17-of-26, 206 yards, TD, INT
  • Nick Chubb – 21 carries, 127 yards, 2 TD; Lost fumble
  • Jarvis Landry – 5 rec, 62 yards, TD
  • Myles Garret – 3 sacks
  • Jadeveon Clowney – INT
  • Denzel Ward – INT (Pick-6)

Well, this would be disappointing, to say the least.

Not only do the Browns pick up the win in the Queen City, but Myles Garrett feasts on Joe Burrow against the Bengals o-line, and Nick Chubb has a monster day at the helm. We saw how easily the Jets were able to pick apart the Bengals D last week on short passes and it looks like that pays off here for the Browns, as they employ a similar strategy.

The Bengals put up a hell of a fight against the Browns last year despite being a much weaker team on paper. They should be able to beat Cleveland this time around but after that loss to the Jets, it’s understandable why fans might be a bit more anxious about this one than usual.
