The Cincinnati Bengals probably won’t be looking to spend a ton of money in the offseason. You know how the saying goes, right? You get what you pay for.

Even with the bankroll of the Bengals a bit on the low side, they have a great option to fill the void for Uzomah in former Arizona Cardinal tight end, Maxx Williams.

If we simply looked at the numbers, he doesn’t exactly leap off the page as a great player. In his best season, Williams caught 32 balls for 268 yards and a touchdown. This year, he was on his way to blowing those numbers away. In five games, Williams had 193 receiving yards and 16 catches. Unfortunately for him, he was unable to keep things going as he suffered a torn ACL.

Due to his injury and pending free agency, the Bengals could swoop in and get their hands on him for a sensible deal. For Williams, it isn’t just about his upside offensively but he’s a terrific run blocker as well, something that will make running back Joe Mixon even more prolific.

Quarterback Joe Burrow will get Williams the ball early and often. So if the franchise is truly looking for someone to replace Uzomah, he could be the likely and best option.

Next. Bengals need to hire Joe Brady if Brian Callahan lands elsewhere. dark
