1. J.C. Tretter
In a surprise move earlier this week, the Browns parted ways with center J.C. Tretter and the Bengals need to swoop in and sign him. Tretter started his career in Green Bay but has been with the Browns for the past five years and during that time, has missed just one game, which came last year when he tested positive for COVID-19.
If Cincinnati signed Tretter, they’d be able to put Ted Karras at left guard, Tretter would slide in at center, and Alex Cappa would play right guard. This would give the stripes quite the trio in their interior offensive line and it wouldn’t be an area they’d need to address again anytime soon.
All that would be left for the Bengals to address on their offensive line would be right tackle, which they could do with Brown, who we discussed earlier, or La’el Collins. They could also elect to wait until the draft to add a right tackle but in a stacked AFC, they might not want to have a rookie out there blocking for Burrow against some of these pass-rushers.
Tretter needs to be on the Bengals’ radar. He wouldn’t even have to move out of Ohio if he joined the reigning AFC champions.
Would you be okay with any of these free agents coming to the Queen City?
