Cincinnati Bengals fans knew that as soon as Joe Burrow went down in Week 2 with what ended up basically being a season-ending injury, that 2025 was a lost cause for this group. That's proven to be even more the case after the Bengals have been blown out in both games since the injury and look to be completely floundering on both sides of the ball.

This team just isn't the same without Burrow and that is crystal clear. His friend, Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant, couldn't help but sound off on the injury and how unfortunate it is while appearing on Up & Adams, making every Bengals fan nod heavily in agreement

"I want Joe Burrow to win every game because that's my brother, and unfortunately, having toe surgery and being out for three months... knowing his mentality and knowing how hard he works and how much he cares and he'll bounce back and have a great season next year or whenever he comes back," Durant said to Kay Adams. "I think he sees himself finishing his career as one of the greatest ever... he also understands the difference between having potential to get there and actually doing it... so that's why times like this is just so unfortunate because coming off such an insane season last year... for that to be interrupted, it pisses me off."

Bengals fans couldn't agree more with Kevin Durant's latest Joe Burrow comments

Yeah, this whole situation just sucks and there really isn't a better way to phrase it. It sucks for Burrow. It sucks for the Bengals. It sucks for the fans. Burrow's injury has truly led to a lost season and for a team with so much talent, to have it all come crashing down just two weeks into the regular season is so frustrating and so painful.

Burrow probably would have won MVP a season ago had the Bengals made the playoffs. That's how dominant the guy was. There were so many expectations for this team now that Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins were sticking around and Trey Hendrickson came back for at least one more year. Now all of that feels like it was for nothing.

Durant isn't the only one that knows what Burrow is capable of and while we all hope that he's able to bounce back and come back swinging next year, that's a long time from now. We still have to sit through a mostly Burrow-less 2025 season and it just flat-out sucks.
