The Cincinnati Bengals formed their practice squad for the 2023 season. While there's a good chance we hear very little about the majority of these players for the rest of the year, who are some of the practice squad members who could help the team in 2023?

To get elevated from the practice squad, the Bengals have to call them up, which is often done when there's an injury. For instance, if the Bengals end up needing to put Joseph Ossai on IR to start the year, they'll then be able to call a player up from the practice squad.

Let's take a look at three members of the practice squad who are most likely to help this Bengals team in 2023.

3. Jeff Gunter

The 2022 seventh-round pick out of Coastal Carolina put together a nice preseason campaign but was relegated to the practice squad because the Bengals had plenty of depth on their defensive line. If the Bengals have any injuries to their defensive line (outside of Ossai), Jeff Gunter could be the next man up for the position.

Gunter played in 10 games during his rookie season and looked okay. He was a healthy scratch in the second half of the year but there's certainly reason to think that he'd get called up if the team had an injury and needed another body for their d-line.

With Raymond Johnson off to Detroit, Gunter would be the first d-lineman called up from the practice squad to help Lou Anarumo's unit compete.
