GIF of the year: Rob Ryan’s reaction after Tom Brady’s TD pass

With his team railing 27-23 with seconds remaining, Tom Brady found Kenbrell Thompkins in the back of the end zone with five seconds left in the game, giving the New England Patriots the 30-27 victory over the New Orleans Saints, and it left a rather disheartened look on the face of Saints Defensive Coordinator Rob Ryan:

jabari jabari jabari…why were you in press man with twenty yards to go? just give him the cushion and stay above him until he gets to the endzone then locate the ball…even if you are playing under his inside hip, you have to turn your head to be ready to track the ball and keep and hand on his jersey so you know where he is…cmon this is college corner fade technique 101…you know you are short for a corner so put yourself in a position of leverage so you can’t get beat…but honestly it should have never came to that, the last drive we ran a naked bootleg (WTF)…and I swear it seemed like the entire defense knew it was coming even though we NEVER ran it before (I won’t insinuate anything beyond that)…but why we can’t play action pass and just let drew run backwards and throw it away after eating clock is beyond me…or why we didn’t run an inside screen…or why Keenan lewis pushed the guy OUT OF BOUNDS TO STOP THE CLOCK INSTEAD OF TACKLING HIM INSIDE TO RUN MORE CLOCK…this game is a lesson about finishing…we barely finished against Chicago, and we failed to finish with NE…hopefully lesson is learned…and the biggest lesson I hope DREW learns is to stop trying to make probowlers out of two players…take advantage of your greatest asset your diverse weapons…forcing to graham was poor on him and poor on Payton for not taking advantage of using him as a decoy better…
