Report: Bengals Scouts Talking To Runningbacks At Senior Bowl

A lot of signs have pointed towards the departure of runningback Cedric Benson in this offseason. The team’s coaches and players don’t seem enthusiastic about the longtime starter returning for one more year, and his production hasn’t warranted another contract anyway.

It seems that the Bengals are likely going to take a runningback early in this year’s draft, and their scouts have been seen talking extensively to two early round runningbacks at this year’s Senior Bowl practices- Boise State’s Doug Martin and Cincinnati’s Isaiah Pead.

Bengals scouts talked to Pead after yesterday’s practice, and Martin after today’s practice.

Martin is projected to be a second or third round pick, while Pead is projected to be gone in the third of fourth round.
